Arrive Srinagar by flight and our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to hotel or houseboat. A traditional ladakhi welcome at the hotel. You will be served with refreshing Kawa tea in the morning and in the evening also. You can take Shikara ride in Dal Lake and enjoy sun setting. Exquisite dinner will be served at the hotel/houseboat.
After having breakfast, you can leave for a half day tour to world famous Mughal Gardens and Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) built by Asaf Jah in 1636. You can also explore the beauty of Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love) built by Jehangir for his beloved wife Nur Jahan in 1619 AD. Beautiful afternoons can be spent riding Shikara in Dal Lake. After exploring the gardens you will be taken back to hotel/houseboat.
The day is dedicated for visiting the nation’s pride Kargil which is about 210 kms. Soon after leaving Srinagar we enter Sonmarg (Meadow of Gold). Continue driving for Kargil via the Zozilla Pass (11575 ft). On the trip to Kargil, we also visit Vijay Samarak (Kargil War Memorial) and the legendary Tiger Hill. Dinner and overnight stay will be organized at the hotel.
After early breakfast, drive for Leh (224 KM) via visiting Lamayuru Monastery which is one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh. The monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings, collection OF Thankas, murals, scriptures and statues of Buddha and other deities. Another destination would be Monastery Lamayuru which also attracts tourist for its landscape similar to the Lunar Terrain. You can drive to Leh via visiting Alchi Monastery (exquisite lunch at Alchi), Sangam (confluence of two rivers, Indus and Zanskar) and Magnetic Hill (the hill that defies the gravity). You will reach Leh by the evening and check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be organized at the hotel.
Take a complete day rest to get acclimatized to the high altitude of 3524 Meters (11,500 ft). Later in the evening, you will visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Bazar for the orientation. Dinner and overnight will be organized at the hotel.
Complete day sightseeing tour of Shey Palace, Sindhu Ghat, Thiksey and Hemis Monastery (museum and royal residence). Hemis is situated 45 KM west of Ladakh. The Monastery is one of the most wealthiest and largest monasteries of ladakh. Later, drive back from the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery (famous for its gigantic statue of Materaya). At last, visit Shey Palace, the summer hub of Namgyal Dynasty kings. Dinner & overnight stay will be organized at the hotel.
After early breakfast leave for Nubra Valley. It is about 135 KM from Lehen route through the world’s highest accessible road Khardong La (18,379 ft). Reach Diskit (headquarter of Nubra valley) by noon and check in at the hotel/camp and have exquisite lunch. In the Evening, visit Diskit Monastery and Sand dunes in Hunder Village 7 KM from Diskit and take a ride of Double Humped Bactrian Camels. Dinner and overnight will be organized at the hotel/camp.
After breakfast, we start our journey to Turtuk which is 80 KMs from Nubra. It is a 3 hours long drive and is the last Indian village on India-Pakistan border. Turtuk was captured by Indian army in the 1971 war from Pakistan. This village has a similar culture and language to Ladakh. The religion of Turtuk is mostly Nurbakshi Muslim though some of the villagers are Shia also. Arrive Turtuk by afternoon, visit the local village and check in at the hotel/camp. Dinner and overnight stay will be organized at hotel/camp.
After having breakfast, drive back from the same route to Nubra and reach Leh by the evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel.
After early breakfast, drive for Pangong Lake which is 149 kms from Lehen route and visit Thiksey Monastery. Then proceed to Changla Pass, which is third highest mountain motorable pass in the world. The Lake is situated at the height of 4350 meters (14270 ft) and is in the Changthang region of Leh district. The lake is hardly six to seven kilometer wide but over 130 KM long and is bisected by the international border between India and China. The Saline water lake is at the height of 4,350 m (14,270 ft) and has a brilliant colour variation including deep blue and turquoise. Dinner and overnight stay organized at the hotel/ camp.
Leave Pangong after breakfast and drive back towards Leh from the same route. At the Kharu road junction, take the road to Hemis and visit the famous 17th century Hemis Monastery. This monastery is one of the largest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh. After enjoying this monastery drive back to Leh. Dinner and overnight stay will be organised at the hotel.
After early breakfast, transfer to Kushok Bakula Leh airport for the return flight. Tour concludes!
